High-tech ‘Drone era’ boosts agricultural production

We will improve the quality and efficiency of agricultural production and vigorously promote rural revitalization and the mechanization of agricultural production. Recently, pesticide spraying by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has promoted efficient agricultural production in Teng County Lighting Rice Cooperative Base in Liandong Village, Mengjiang Town, Guangdong County, and pushed the “shortcut key” for rural revitalization and agricultural development.

At present, it is a critical period for field management of early rice production, so it is very important to do a good job in field management of middle rice production. At the Guangdong Rice Cooperative base in Liandong Village, Mengjiang Town, a drone, operated by technicians, takes off steadily and flies low over rice fields. Pesticides in the form of fog were scattered in the rice fields along with the air flow, and the crops were covered with a thin layer of pesticides wherever the aircraft passed. In just two minutes, a UAV finished spraying one mu of rice fields.

Using UAV spraying can spray more than 120 mu per hour, which is more than 100 times the efficiency of manual operation. Compared with traditional artificial sprayers, UAV low-altitude pesticide spraying has the characteristics of simple operation, fast speed, high efficiency, low cost and large-scale operation. It not only solves the problem of rural labor shortage, but also reduces the pollution of pesticide to the field environment through standardized and mechanized drug use. In order to effectively control rice pests and diseases and consolidate the foundation for grain harvest, Tengxian organized a professional technical team of “flying control” to run in the countryside of various towns and villages in combination with the needs of agricultural production to provide unified control and control operations of plant protection drones for villagers.

The use of plant protection UAV spraying solves the problems of uneven coverage and poor control effect of conventional manual spraying. Compared with manual spraying, UAV spraying has higher efficiency and lower cost.

Plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been used for unified control and control over an area of about 8,000 mu, further improving the professional prevention and control ability of major rice diseases and insect pests, ensuring grain production, agricultural product quality and ecological environment safety, and providing strong guarantee for increasing the yield and harvest of early rice
