Entering the ecological greenhouse of Haitao Farm in Xiangkou Township, Yunxi County, Shiyan City, a verdant dragon fruit tree is full of vitality, with red and green fruits hanging all over the branches. The green vines and red fruits complement each other, making the scenery very pleasant.
Zheng Haitao, a talented person who is picking dragon fruits and returning home to become rich, said, “I have tried planting 5000 dragon fruits in the greenhouse, with an annual harvest of approximately 4000 to 8000 kilograms. The fruits produced are bright red in color, abundant in water, and sweet in taste, and have basically achieved success.
Zheng Haitao, originally a five-star hotel chef, took the initiative to return to his hometown and start a business in 2009, opening the way for off-season vegetable cultivation and breaking the bottleneck of only growing seasonal vegetables in Xiangkou Township. The “Haitao Family Farm” was registered and established in 2015, engaged in comprehensive industries such as vegetable planting and sales, pig farming, and ecological fish farming.
It is understood that Huolongguo belongs to the tropical and subtropical cactus family plants, mainly growing in tropical regions such as Hainan and Guangxi in China. The planting input cost is high, but the later management cost is low. Haitao Farm is the first farm in Yunxi County to plant Huolongguo, with a high market share and broad development prospects.
At present, the main sales method of Huolongguo on Haitao Farm is self picking, which is deeply loved by the surrounding people and has reached a situation where supply exceeds demand.
